After his parents divorced, he spent his childhood in France, so he was interested in French culture. This interest later made him attend the L’Univerité de Paris-LA Sorbonne to study French culture and civilization.

Hitz enrolled in the Nd Le Cordon Bleu and Institute of Culinary Education to get lessons. His time in these institutes sharpened his culinary skills even more.

Career

Hitz started his career just after graduating from high school. He took a summer job in The Patio by The River, where he worked for four years.

He eventually left his job to go to college but never forgot about that place. Later, he purchased the share of the restaurant and became its co-owner.

He already knew a few tricks when it came to food but working in The Patio by The River gave him a chance to master them. However, he sold the place and tried his luck as a producer after being influenced by his stepfather.

He co-produced many shows on Broadway like The Sound of music. Broadway was just a start as he paved his way into TV by producing movies. However, his career in TV did not go as planned. None of his works got broadcasted on the screen.

It made him shift his career towards real estate development. He started working in main cities like LA, New York, and his hometown Atlanta as a developer. 

While all of this was going on, Hitz started missing his passion for food. So, he decided to start The Beverly Hills Kitchen, which supplied gourmet food. He then shifted his brand to Home Shopping Network, making it the only brand having its timeslot.

The brand was a huge success which fueled his passion for food and culinary arts more. Hitz then started paying more focus on his culinary business. He even published a book with one hundred and seventy-five of the original recipes that he invented.
