Jamie Foster was born to Mamie Lee and Peter James Foster. She married Dr. Lorenzo Brown, a former economist in 1970 but his sudden demise in 2015 affected Jamie’s life severely. Jamie had two sons – Randy and Russell and Foster with Lorenzo. They lived in Stockholm, Sweden at past times. Jamie has a sister too named Stella Foster who contributed to writing the famous Sister 2 Sister magazine.

Career
After graduating from high school, Brown worked for Equitable Life Insurance Society and Teletype Corporation. After that, She worked as a secretary at Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago, Illinois. At the same time, she was also the assistant of William A. Nail at Zenith Radio Company.
In 1972, Brown and her husband, Dr. Lorenzo Brown, shifted back to Sweden. They had different degrees to pursue but still, they worked together to run a cleaning company to make a living. They returned to the United States in 1978 and settled in Washington, D.C. Later in 1979, Brown established a group theater named the Washington Theater Group, which used to advertise group ticket sales for theatrical performances and programs.
Brown’s career took a bright turn when she joined Black Entertainment Television (BET) in 1981 as Robert L. Johnson’s advertising secretary. Brown worked as an assistant producer for BET’s Video Soul and Video LP shows from 1981 to 1985. In 1985, she left BET and applied to work for Impact magazine.
Brown had met many fabulous musical talents such as Whitney Houston and others while working as a TV producer, and she would eventually utilize her contacts for her entertainment reporting. While working for Impact magazine and other magazines, Brown came up with the idea for her own publication. Then, finally, in 1988, Jamie published her own magazine ‘Sister 2 Sister’. Her magazine was published for the first time in Lanham, Maryland, and then in Takoma Park, Maryland.
After the success of her first publication, she launched The Sister 2 Sister Celebrity Update, a nationally syndicated radio show. Moreover, Brown has starred on the Joan Rivers Show and the Tom Joyner Morning Show on a regular basis which made her even more popular. Betty Shabazz: A Sisterfriends’ Tribute in Words and Pictures was published by Brown in 1998. Brown also starred in the 2009 film ‘Think Like a Man’ and on an episode of “E! True Hollywood Story”.
