Her father Roberto Ignacio Campos was a U.S. Navy and had fought in World War II. He has earned severel recognitions and awards from the U.S. government. Later, he became the professional firefighter in Harlingen. He was born in 1926 and died on June 11, 2018.

Her mother Gaudencia Hernandez was born to Elvira Tamez and Felipe Hernandez in Donna, Texas on February 12, 1932. She went to Harlingen High School and attended Pan American University.

She owned an emplyment agency and helped many people with interviewing skills, resume writing, getting jobs. She was the member of Harlingen Chamber of Commerce and Texas Association of Mexican-American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC).

She died on October 29, 2020, age 88.

Gloria is the eldest among her siblings.

Her sister Debbie Campos is a retired marketing and sales professional and her younger sister Larissa Campos runs a blog. Her brother Robert Campos Jr. is a retired firefighter.

Her sister Larissa “Lisa” also followed her footstep and worked as a news anchor for the student radio station in the University of Texas at Austin. She now works full-time remotely as a proposal manager for a global IT service company and also runs a blog that helps visitors explore Harlingen.
