In the year 2000, Baker was all set to compete in the Sydney Olympics but unfortunately his sports. i.e Mountain Biking was banned from the Olympics. This announcement was very heartbreaking for him.

After this unfortunate moment, Aldon Baker quit motor racing for a while and started his career as a personal gym trainer in London.

In the same year, Baker was offered to train the famous motocross player, Ricky Carmichael. Carmichael was able to shine and improve through the training provided by Baker.
